Generally, yes. The insurance company can request medical records that are relevant to the injuries you claim were caused or worsened by the accident. But that does not mean they automatically get your entire lifetime medical history or full sets of records that are completely unrelated. Your attorney’s goal will be to collect the records needed to prove your damages (diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, work restrictions) while limiting requests that are overbroad or unrelated.
