About Alex Hertogs

Alex has practiced almost exclusively in the area of criminal defense since the beginning of his legal career. He has courtroom experience in litigating cases that range from DWIs, Assaults, Drug Possession, and Robbery. Alex has obtained numerous dismissals of cases prior to trial and has obtained not guilty jury verdicts for his clients. Alex is quickly developing a reputation for being willing to go to trial even in difficult cases. He also has extensive research and writing experience, which he uses to discover and litigate legal issues that require attention to detail. He is always willing to go the extra mile for his clients and believes that every client—no matter what they are charged with—is entitled to a vigorous defense.

Alex is a third-generation attorney who grew up in Hastings, MN. After high school, he attended the University of Minnesota where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 2013, and Master of Education in 2014. After teaching middle school students for a few years, Alex decided to become an attorney. He graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2020, magna cum laude. During law school, Alex worked at the Tenth District Public Defender’s Office and a private criminal defense firm. After law school, Alex worked for a district court judge where he learned the inner workings of the judicial system. Since that time, Alex has spent most of his time in the courtroom, fighting for his clients.

In his free time, Alex enjoys playing guitar, hiking, backpacking, running, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
